Final event: "Teaching social responsibility: the CSR IN CLASS project in schools", Venice 7 June 2019

Social responsibility, and sustainability more generally, today are strategic development factors and values to which more and more people and organizations refer. A rapidly evolving scenario where the school must ask itself about the importance of adopting responsible strategies and the urgency to intervene to grow the culture of sustainability. In this context, Unioncamere del Veneto organizes the seminar: "TEACHING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: THE CSR IN CLASS PROJECT IN SCHOOLS" to be held Friday, 7th June 2019, from 10.00 to 13.00 pm at the Sala Europa of Unioncamere del Veneto, Via delle Industrie 19 / C, Venice - Marghera. The seminar, which represents the final event of the CSR IN CLASS project, will offer, thanks to the intervention of expert speakers, an overview of what it means to build social responsibility at school.

The event is aimed at companies involved in school-work alternation and in corporate social responsibility, school managers, teachers of upper secondary schools and their associations, professors and university students, regional and provincial school offices, training and community planning and chamber system.

The CSR and social innovation exhibition, Milan 2 and 3 October 2018

The appointment with the CSR and social innovation exhibition, the most important event in Italy dedicated to sustainability, will be back in Milan this year on October 2nd and 3rd 2018. The title of this 6th edition - The routes of sustainability - is inspired by the sea voyage and is dedicated to those who want to ride the waves of knowledge, get to the destination and start richer in ideas, share the journey with new companions. With the awareness that the route can change but the values Represent the compass for all the responsible organizations. Dozens of meetings, hundreds of speakers, thousands of visitors: those who come to the fair can learn about the companies that have made sustainability a strategic driver, meet many young people, help build the future of CSR. Two intense days thanks to a rich cultural program, many stimulating appointments, many opportunities for networking.

High-Level Political Forum 2018

The high-level political forum on sustainable development of United Nations will meet from Monday, 9 July, to Wednesday, 18 July 2018. The ministerial meeting of the forum will be from Monday, 16 July, to Wednesday, 18 July 2018.
The theme is: "Transformation towards sustainable and resilient societies".
The HLPF will also review progress towards the SDGS and focus in particular on:

  • Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all

  • Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all

  • Goal 11. Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

  • Goal 12. Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

  • Goal 15. Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

  • Goal 17. Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development. 

The first week will include numerous panel and roundtables on the theme and on the SDGs under review.
47 countries will carry out Voluntary National Reviews during the ministerial meetings.
Various meetings and forums were held to prepare the HLPF and multiple inputs were provided. Special events, side events, a VNR Lab and other meetings will be held during the HLPF.
The meeting will adopt a ministerial declaration.

CSR Europe, Brussels SDG Summit 2018, 23 May 2018.

CSR Europe promotes the second edition of its Brussels SDG Summit (23 May) entitled " Leading in a Changing World: Europe at the forefront of global economic, social and political change", as part of the European Business Summit (EBS, 23-24 May). The inspiration for this edition derives from the Sustainable Development Goal 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalise the global partnership for sustainable development. Around 250 speakers are expected (companies, representatives of the European Union, civil society, industrial sectors and regional partners) from all over Europe and overseas. The SDG Summit program includes high-level plenary presentations and 15 roundtables on the SDG Challenge theme, while the CSR Europe General Assembly, the gala dinner and the meeting of national partners reserved for CSR Europe members will be held on 24 May. The event is subject to charges.

CSR IN CLASS project: 2 nd partner meeting and steering committee

CSR IN CLASS partners will meet for their second partner meeting on 24th of April 2018 in Kapfenberg (Austria), hosted by the partner Brainplus at FH Joanneum – University of Applied Science premises. During the meeting project partners will discuss about the advancement of the three intellectual outputs of the project:

  • National and transnational report “CSR IN CLASS: the spreading of CSR in secondary schools and their territories, that is ready

  • CSR IN CLASS Virtual Learning Environment  for teachers of secondary schools, that will be ready in May

  • CSR IN CLASS contest for secondary schools that will be held in October 2018

 

The project partners will also discuss about the three mobility that will be held between February and June 2019 and about the management issues of the project.
